Would you believe it actually is possible to achieve your goals – whether it is weight loss, improved energy, feeling more like yourself, cutting down on aches and pains – or just plain getting healthier…. WITHOUT having to stick to a plan?
First off, let me share that I personally am terrible at sticking to a plan. I am the personality where if you tell me I cannot eat a donut – well, I’ll go eat 3 of them.
However, 13 years ago, I was a college kid with low back, hip, knee and other joint pain. My heart raced so fast I couldn’t exercise, and I had tremendous difficulty focusing. When I learned that changing my diet could help all these things, I was desperate to try anything.
Except no matter how gung ho I would start a plan, I LITERALLY could never make it a full day. That’s right. I couldn’t even follow a plan for a DAY.
Even after becoming a Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I still failed. And so I finally decided to try something different.
It took years of trial and error, but I slowly shifted my focus beyond food.
It was apparent for myself, my clients, and millions of others, that diets and nutrition plans are basically setting us up for failure.
Rather than only concentrating on what was on plate, I focused on my relationship with food and my body.
I dove deep and examined why even though I knew what to do, I wasn’t following through. For me personally, a lot of it revolves around emotional eating – eating when I am angry, lonely or even happy.
Does this mean I eat whatever I want?
Yah, pretty much.
But the food I now crave the majority of the time is food that nourishes my body and leaves me feeling energized and mentally clear (or at least as clear as the brain of a working mom with an 8-month-old can be!!).
In understanding all of this, my aches and pains have gone away, I feel energized with consistent energy throughout the day (no afternoon slumps…well, unless my baby has kept me up all night!), I sleep great (again, other than the baby waking me. . .) and I feel healthier now than I did 10 years ago.
Figuring this out took over 10 years for me, but I don’t want anyone else to have to take that long! So, I have put together a program to help you start digging deep – to go beyond food – and allow you to start feeling better without a strict diet plan right away!
