Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a way of treating musculoskeletal conditions with the specific purposeful and skillful use of the practitioners hands. These skills are usually mastered with experience and advanced training. Examples of manual therapy include: joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, neural mobilization, mobilization with movement, strain-counterstrain, augmented soft tissue mobilization also known as "ASTYM", massage, etc. These skills are typically used to relieve pain, normalize abnormal tissue mobility, decrease abnormally high muscle tone, etc.
