Playing baseball is a fun but demanding sport. One position that might be the most demanding is pitcher. This is because pitching a baseball is a very complex movement performed very quickly with explosive power but yet pin point control and it's performed over and over again. The angular velocity of a pitcher's arm can be as fast as 7000 degrees/second as the pitch is being delivered. Much but not all of that force is imparted to the ball. How the pitcher deals with the remaining force with deceleration and follow through is often the difference between success and failure regarding both performance and injuries. Pitching with poor mechanics is a ticking time bomb. It will go off eventually. Our physical therapists can evaluate your body for it's preparedness to pitch, give feedback on mechanics and provide treatment or performance enhancement training to help you pitch with greater velocity, accuracy and with less risk for injury.
