Peak Sports Therapist Travels to Dominican Republic to Provide Physical Therapy Support

Kelly Enfield recently traveled to the Dominican Republic where she was able to spend two weeks working in a physical therapy clinic. Kelly was one of the leaders of a group of 25 high school students from the Snoqualmie Valley serving in occupational sites.

A new study published in Spine shows that early treatment by a physical therapist for low back pain (LBP), as compared to delayed treatment, was associated with reduced risk of subsequent health care utilization and lower overall health care costs.

Lake City Ambassador in Africa

Ashley Picone (Lake City) recently traveled to the Rakai District in Southern Uganda to work at an orphanage. The task they were attempting was to install a water system catchment tank. The village would then be able to use the water to grow crops and for emergency drinking water should their well go dry. The volunteers also addressed AIDS education with the villagers.
